There aren’t that many healthy foods that I actually like eating other than chicken, vermicelli and brown rice. I try to eat pretty healthy a lot of the time with some cheat days. I eat decent enough that I’m kinda lean and not fat.
What are your favourite healthy foods?

I used to workout at a gym years ago. The equipment was great and it was cool meeting other people into fitness. Unfortunately, it was pretty expensive for me and I found it hard to focus. Basically after a year of working out at a gym I decided to workout at home. My body changed a lot more working out at home even though I didn’t have a lot of equipment. All I use at home are some...
the-nerd-jock asked: Pretty good progress pic there man, what kind of timeframe is that within?

Girls and boys grow up feeling the pressure of having to conform to unrealistic body types. This may end up hurting their self-esteem. It’s hard for someone to feel good about their own body. When I was a teen I disliked being skinny so I started to workout to put on some size. I’m happy with my body now.
Are you happy with your body?

I never really liked doing barbell squats. I guess it’s because I wasn’t ever that good at it. It was hard going deep with a heavy weight. When I had a gym membership I would do squats using the smith machine a lot of the time. But now that I workout at home and I don’t have a squat rack or machines I just do dumbbell squats. Barbell squats are probably my least favourite...

I often get people asking me about free weights vs machines. They’re both great and very good results can be achieved with either. I personally prefer free weights as it’s better for overall development. As many of you know it works the stabilizing muscles which machines don’t. It’s also better for getting stronger as lifting free weights is a lot harder. But of course...

There’s nothing wrong with eating the occasional cheat food. It’s easier to maintain a diet that is composed of mostly healthy food than a diet of only healthy food. I think there should be at least one day a week where you can eat junk food. My favourite cheat foods are probably pizza, wings and burgers.
What are your favourite cheat foods?

I’ve always liked running outdoors more than using the stationary bike/treadmill indoors. Indoor cardio is just more boring for me. Even in the winter when it’s snowing pretty bad (I live in Canada) I still run outside.
Do you prefer doing cardio indoors or outdoors?

I know some people that make a big deal over what they should wear for a workout. I just wear whatever I feel comfortable in. When working out I think comfort is more important than how good the clothes look.
What do you wear when you workout?

Training Chest
I occasionally get some random people asking me how much do I bench. I reply by saying I have no idea since I don’t bench press which is the truth. I don’t even remember the last time that I did a barbell bench press. All I remember doing was 230lbs on the smith machine for about 12 reps. But I don’t even do that anymore. All I do for my chest now are pushups haha. Pushups are...

I don’t really need any motivation to workout since I just like to workout. But I also don’t want to be horribly out of shape as I get older. I know too many people that were in great shape in their youth then became out of shape.
What motivates you to workout?
priiitykitty asked: Hey, so I'm starting to get in shape. I've been working out about 3 days on average per week and trying to eat as healthy as I can while still taking in 1300calories per day. I'm female, 5'7 about 160 pounds. First, do you think enough calories I'm consuming considering I'm doing 25-30 minutes cardio (usually run/walk intervals or the arc trainer machine) and strength...

I like to workout with a partner and by myself sometimes. Both are good and can benefit you. Having a workout partner is great since you and your partner can push and encourage each other. Working out on your own can also be awesome as there are fewer distractions making it easier to focus on your workout.
Do you prefer working out with a partner or by yourself?

My main gym pet peeve when I had a gym membership was this. A lot of people always forgot to re-rack their weights after use. I’ve been working out at home for years now but that was my biggest gym pet peeve.
What’s your biggest gym pet peeve?

Normally I workout in the evening. But I also like working out in the morning and at lunch. I never have set times for working out. I just make sure I fit in a workout three to four times a week.

Workout Frequency
I used to workout six days a week. But later I found that my body responded better with less workouts. I now workout three to four days a week.

Fitness Goal
I want to be in shape for as long as I can. I don’t think there’s a point to be in shape in my 20’s but out of shape in my 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, etc.
What’s your main fitness goal?
